| The definitive end of American innocence |
|
Think I've read this title somewhere ... don't think it just sprung from my imagination ... Anyway, it's certain that the catastrophe which happened about 18 hours ago will (finally) confront most Americans with the idea that you can not be safe anywhere. Not even in the self-proclaimed "safest, biggest and best country in the world". Upon entering the 21st century we suddenly find ourselves in scenarios that wouldn't be bought by big Hollywood execs because "no one would believe this". It's the world imagined by hardcore science-fiction authors, technothriller-writers ... However horrifying, this will not be the start of World War III ... there probably won't even be no more World Wars. Not a single country will want to top this attack ... but there will be always be powerhungry conglomerates and crime-cartels who'll gladly take over their place. After 11 september 2001, the world will change a bit. |
