Still coughing, but back to work since a few days. Staying home for a week usually is fun,
but when you're sleeping all the time, there's not much of the fun left. Couldn't watch any movies because I fell
asleep or got a headache, couldn't game, couldn't read ... pretty boring in retrospect.

Oldie of the week : -----
Last seen movie : "Storytelling" : Pretentious two-story film from a pretentious writer/director who
didn't know what to do with his free time. First short story is about a girl in a writing-class. A class where
everyone gets hassled that they should write something better, more from the heart. Director should've followed
his own advice. Next longer story is about a boy who doesn't want to go to college and the reaction from his
parents. At first more plausible, less racist and stereotypical, but it too quickly derails into the college
versus loners and freaks stereotypes until it ends in a weird mess. Slightly Donnie Darko-ish, but not even
reaching the ankles of that masterpiece.
Doing this week : Catching up work.

Right now I'm in day 5 of what may be the heaviest flu of my life. Friday and saturday
were mostly spent sleeping. Sunday knew some waking moments - inbetween naps - but all I got out of it was
coughing, insane sweating and the chills. So I must've gotten better on monday, right ? Well no. More sweating,
the coughing got worse and I still can't keep my eyes open for longer than an hour or two. But today I'm
feeling a bit better. Took a shower and a shave, followed by a nap and I'm up all afternoon. Haven't been up
that long for a while. Kinda cool, I'm even watching a movie - well, partially ...

Oldie of the week : -----
Last seen movie : "We Were Soldiers" : I only saw the begin and some random parts during the rest of
the movie because I kept dozing of because it was my first day being sick - I was still thinking I could
concentrate enough to watch a movie. Anyway, I don't think the movie itself would've kept me interested
the whole run as it's the usual Mel Gibson drivel he's producing the last years. Filled with religious banter
and patriotistic heroism. I have to admit that the movie seems to do it's best not to villify the Vietcong.
So I'll give him that. Still not worthwhile ...
"Red Dragon" : comments are being written.
Doing this week : Recover. Get rid of the nasty cough and warm and cold chills. And then get back to
work before the week is over. I hope.

Here's an update regarding Christo's "The Gates" project in New York. There's a
gigantic
image from a space-telescope available. Nice overview of whole central Park.

It's Valentine's Day today. Some call it "the yearly commercial festival celebrating
lovers squandering their hard earned money", others just think of it as a day where you're either alone (and
maybe slightly depressed) or you're together with someone and you tell him/her you love her/him and mean it a
little more than usual. I'm not gonna tell you what to do. Feel free to ignore my advice and go buy flowers,
chocolate, a card and a necklace, or don't and get home early, make dinner and make the evening a fun one.
Song of the week : I'm not listening to new music right now.
Oldie of the week : "Feeling Lucky" The Jesus And Mary Chain
Last seen movie : "Hellboy" : comments are being written
"Sideways" : comments are being written
"Cats And Dogs" : comments are being written
"Sleep With Me" : comments are being written.
Doing this week : Oh boy, 24 season three is up to it's last episode tomorrow-evening, so I'll probably
be recuperating from my cardiac arrest for the rest of the week. Or pay some bills. Well, not exactly pay ...
I'll just schedule them in my banking application for payment in the coming weeks.

Christo
- famous for all his packaging art - will open his latest project tomorrow. 7532 orange portals with flags
placed alongside the walkways in New York's Central Park. Sounds nice and will probably add an extra sunny
touch to the park.
Made me think of an exhibition Elischka and I once saw in Brussels with artwork from
Christo. Ranging from sketches and paintings to small statues and decoramas of some of his projects. Nothing
big, but it did feature some nice views on the whole process of getting things like this arranged. |
| Funniest part however was that for some reason the museum was closed when we got there.
So we snuck in together with a camera-crew from the national television who were covering it for the news. |

Yesterday we buried my girlfriend's last grandmother and things always feel eerie after
a funeral - even when you hardly knew the person. I guess it's because this makes you wonder about your own
life and family-members. Unfortunately time stops for no one ... if it could, I know some people I'd like to
preserve forever. Or just some magic words to make things like this OK ? Would be handy for everyone.

Doing this week : I'm gonna try to do at least a planet a day in Star Wars Battlefront (not so difficult
- sometimes only takes 15 minutes) if I find the time. I really need to start playing some of the games I bought
and stop being Live in Halo 2 all the time. Sure it's great for your rankings and always good fun, but there's
plenty more fish in the sea like the saying goes ...
