Had one of my "get sick in three hours time" things again where I go from normal to puke
above the toilet while having stomach-spasms yesterday. Not something I'd recommend if you wanna have a good
night's rest. And so I'm off work now - chilling in the sofa. At least the barfing feeling's gone. What a way to
start/end the week.
Song of the week : -----
Oldie of the week : "I Don't Want You" The Paranoiacs
Last seen movie : "The Rats" : Funny little suspense-chiller with only a slight hint of gore. Big shop in
NY has rat-problem. Supervisor (Mädchen Amick) calls super-exterminator (Vincent Spano) and together they find
lots and lots of rats in the underground. Enter mad scientists, rare plant that causes it, helpless people being
attacked and big finale. Definitely recommended if you like cheesy horror with good laughs.
Doing this week : Moviereviews. I'm behind again. As usual.

Ever been fascinated by a sitcom about nothing ? I was in the nineties. Spend each evening
right before midnight checking out an episode of "Seinfeld". A sitcom about standup comedian Jerry Seinfeld and
some of his friends ... but really a show about nothing. Seinfeld and co-creator Larry David (who has brought the
concept back in 2000 with a sitcom spin on a reality-show about his own life) wrote 9 seasons of the show before
stopping for an audience of millions. First three seasons are on DVD now. I'm hooked again.

Oldie of the week : -----
Last seen movie : "Spring, summer, fall, winter ... spring" : beautiful tale about the life of a monk in
the midst of a river. You see his pupil grow up, leave, come back haunted and take over the monk's life. A true
circle of life that despite the slow story and being low on dialogue, thanks to it's short duration (1 hour 40
minutes) it never gets boring and you keep watching the gorgeous scenery and sophisticated asian way of life and
dealing with emotions and harshness.
Doing this week : Finishing Halo 2. Didn't have time enough to get on with it. Did spend another afternoon
(elevating the total count to 10 hours in two days) eliminating Covenant scum together with brother-in-law Ben.
Went from mid level 7 to beginning of level 12.

Guess what ? Now there's even a study confirming that it's 99,9 % sure that electronic votes in Florida might have been
wrong - maybe even tampered with. True or false ? Doesn't matter, it's too late to do anything about it anyway.
But sure does raise some interesting questions again.

Finally found a decent and cheaply priced multiblock with powersurge-shutoff with enough
outlets to connect all the clutter that a simple TV-table tends to collect these days. Being the TV, the video,
the DVD-player, the X-box, the surround-system, the cablemodem and router/switch ... add some lighting and you're
seeing a lot of cables gathering dust. Cleaned that shit up, connected the new outlets and installed everything
in a better way. And now I'm sneezing.
Song of the week : "Stand My Ground" Within Temptation - for its cheesyness
Oldie of the week : "Now It's On" Grandaddy
Last seen movie : "City Hunter" : lame live-version of some manga-comic starring Jackie Chan. Stupid sexist
jokes and some stumbling around, falling from stairs and shit. Orientals probably laugh their asses off with this,
but I found it boring. Luckily Jackie knows how to throw a punch - makes it watchable.
"2000 AD" : Interesting Hong Kong effort to make a big-budget blockbuster about cyber-terrorism. From the producers
of the equally stunning "Purple Storm", but this time with a better storyline. CIA, Hong Kong mobsters, terrorists,
car-chases, gunfire standoffs, explosions ... this movie has it all. Recommended viewing for action-freaks.
"Ripley's Game" : John Malkovich takes over the leading role from Matt Damon and portrays an older Tom Ripley, now
living in Italy. When a neighbour pisses him off, he manipulates him so he performs a hit for the german maffia (I
know, sounds unbelievable, but is very well set up). After Damon's cold, ultra-low on emotions, possible gay portrayal,
Malkovich takes the character into another direction : married and affectionate, but still with no regard for other
people's life, although seemingly only for those who are trying to harm him. This kept me guessing more whether or
not he'd help someone at certain points. If you liked "The Talented Mr; Ripley", you'll have to watch this one too.
"Troy" : dramatization of a certain myth that may or may not have happened in ancient greek regarding the stealing
of an unhappy wife, the siege of the city of Troy and the trick with the wooden horse. Is this real or not ? I don't
care as almost nothing of those times can be sure and certain. As all stories from those times contained gods and
their interference with the mere mortals ... things must've been made up an/or fictionalized for dramatic purposes.
So anyone claiming this isn't true to the story enough needs to get his head examined and realize it's a good thing
that the gods have been written out. leaves more room for great performances from Brad Pitt (menacing), Eric Bana
(dramatic) and Peter O'Toole (ancient wisdom). And the women ? Well, unfortunately they're just there to look good.
Doing this week : Finishing Halo 2. Then start up the live multiplayer variety. Dual-wielding rules.

Well, at least the elections seemed to have gone with less hick-ups this time around. Can
even have been fair and square. Sure, the wrong one won, but if slightly more than half of the american voters
choose him, than that's what we'll be having. Good or bad, right or wrong. A bit more seem to think it's right.
But at least one article sums up why it's
probably not fair.
Song of the week : "Last Fair Deal Gone Down" Eric Clapton
Oldie of the week : "Saturday Morning" Eels
Last seen movie : Absolutely nothing.
Doing this week : Start up Halo 2 if I'm not too sick to clench my fingers round the controller. And go to
the Halo 2 Launch Party this evening. Life-size Master Chiefs, lots of Xboxes and game-freaks huddled around them
fragging eachother. Geeky, nerdy or freaky.

Bush or Kerry ? An easy decision. I hope I'm wrong about the outcome because I'm not
convinced it'll be done fair and square. Did you hear the joke about the european surveyors who aren't allowed
in republican parts of the electionprocess (booths under republican leaders, republican headquarters ...) because
europeans are "dangerous men" ? It's no joke, just the next step in the "Get Bush re-elected by cheating" plan
from the wolfman and other hawks and eagles.
Song of the week : "Amerika" Rammstein
Oldie of the week : "Bonzo Goes To Bitburg" The Ramones
Last seen movie : Just saw some televisionshows inbetween familyvisits.
Doing this week : Rammstein concert tonight, following the election results at night. Sleep tomorrow.
darkman says sleep tight
