If someone wants to see the pictures from our trip to Egypt,
you have to go to the Out section. That one has got to be
revamped one of these days, so here's the direct link.
I hope you don't mind the ugly lay-out Photoshop made and the lack of text and
explainations. Those will be added just like the photos from the other people from
our group will be added later on ...

What was up with the sudden snowstorm yesterday ? Driving
home there were lightning crashes everywhere and in the blink of an eye there
was a hailstorm (not the MS equivalent, but the real deal which puts little dents
in your car) and then it started snowing so heavily that the road became slippery
while I was waiting for a red light. That's quick. My backwindow was no use anymore
either - even with the heating turned up. Shut solid with 2 cm of snow. Had to
scoop up 3 cm by the time I got to the garage. Couldn't leave it on the car during
the night, could I ? This kind of thing isn't what we're used to. Snow for that
matter too. Rain, rain and more rain. That's usually our winter. Maybe some snow,
but 3 to 5 cm in half an hour ? Nope. Kinda cool though, once you're safe inside.

Worf got tattood this weekend but for now he doesn't want
me to post a picture online. Too bad, looks cool. Perhaps a close-up later ?
Without any further recognisable physical elements ?
Song of the week : "Bagagedrager" Spinvis
Oldie of the week : "The Same Deep Water As You" The Cure
Last seen movie : "Mr Deeds" : remake of the classic "Mr. Deeds Goes To Town".
But when you know Sandler's involved, it ain't gonna be dramatic. And so it is. Far
away from anything remotely classic it gives enough laughter for an hour and a half,
but not too much. Well dosed, yet sometimes a little lame. It ain't the fun-fest the
earlier Sandler movies were, but when everything falls into place you're cracking
yourself up big time. Too bad, it only happened twice. Oh well, there's always the
great comedic performance of John Turturro. Sneaky, very sneaky.
Doing this week : Blaming java for all that's going wrong again. Heck,
they deserve it. Java sucks. Too many possible options and places to put your
files when you're installing something. On one server it's in /lib, on the
other it only works when the files are placed in /servlets and on a third server
the stuff never works. No matter where you put it. Go figure.

Jan Verheyen and his
infamous "Nacht Van De Wansmaak" are back and reloaded. Always a
pleasure to watch the worst of cinema.
More relevant information
here. And maybe we'll bump into eachother there ?

Surfing the new
Kinepolis-site isn't
always as easy as it seems. Although a nice upgrade from the old one - better
graphics, shorter loading time and better navigation - some things have a
tendency to break sometimes.
And then you get these errors from
ColdFusion trying
to tell you what went wrong. Not meant to be used outside testing areas,
you get a lot of information about some parts of the webserver in question.

I find it's quite hard to get into the motion of updating
frequently again. Gotta find some decent stuff to say in order to start things
up around here. Any input is appreciated.
Song of the week : "Main Offender" The Hives
Oldie of the week : "21st Century Digital Boy" Bad Religion
Last seen movie : Four weeks after the last cinema visit it was time to
give "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" a go. Comedies hyped big time in the States
are usually full of weak sexual references jokes and anally retarded "good ole
american boys" feelings that make anyone with half a brain hurl. So at first I
was a bit reluctant, but when I heard it was about a wedding between Greeks and
non-Greeks I immediately changed my opinion. It would be impossible to fill a
movie with penis- and breastjokes when it's about a wedding, not ? I'd eat my
ticket if it was.
Right now I'm glad I went because it's one of the funniest comedies in the
romantic genre I've seen lately. Forget Bridget and the likes. Lots of nice and
loving characters, warm dialogue, a little drama and well-structured. Even the
repeating of some jokes works without getting tired and old. Must be the Windex.
Definitely a must see ... support independent filmmaking ...
Sunday after lunch I grabbed my copy of "The Tailor Of Panama". An adaptation of
a John Le Carré spy-novel. Starring Pierce Brosnan and Geoffrey Rush you know what
to expect. Nice suits, slick gentleman-like conversations and alround diplomatic
sneeky-ness. Taking it's time to set the mood in the beginning, the movie delves
into the plot quite sudden, to end with a little bit of tension-building. Perfect
for afternoon viewing.
Doing this week : Finalising the new year's visits skipped due to the trip.

Back from Egypt, back at work, back to the daily grind.
So I guess it's time to start filling these editorials on a regular basis again.
Can't keep neglecting this thing any longer. Already took an extra week off.
Watch out for an upcoming link to some of the pictures I took over there.
Song of the week : "Bother" Stone Sour
Oldie of the week : "Agua Dulce" The Jazz Crusaders
Last seen movie : Too busy picking up the usual day-in day-out life after
coming back from Egypt, combined with two new births in the immediate family and
circle of friends, to check out movies. I have been taping quite a lot though ...
Doing this week : Greeting friends, cleaning up the desk at home, picking
up some pieces at work ... random stuff.
