In order not to confuse the readers I'm going to explain a little more about myself.
Things you should know about me, my family, whether I have cats and dogs, a sister or brother, trees
in my garden, a car or bicycle ... hell, maybe I'll even tell you what I had for dinner yesterday !
Let's see ... where to begin ?
On the other hand ... let's not ...
Song of the week : "No One Knows" Queens Of The Stone Age
Oldie of the week : "MTV Get Off The Air !" Dead Kennedys
Last seen movie : "Windtalkers" : Lots of good points (the scenery, camerawork, the idea behind
the story, indian main-actor, Peter Stormare's way of talking), but alas lots of bad points too (the
way the story is told in a typical "american tormented hero" fashion, the miscasting of Christian
Slater - looks too good for a marine - the ultra-white teeth of most actors, the lack of the typical
John Woo style and it all looks too much like Saving Private Ryan).
So, I'm in doubt about this one. Should I recommend it or not ? I think I'm not going to unless there's
nothing else on television or in the theaters. It's always better than watching Big Brother. No must
see, rather a nice addition to the B-list. The A-list being the must see's and the C-list being the
rainy day features and let's not even mention anything below that ...
Doing this week : Let's see ... getting used to the first rainfall ?

Guess what people ? I actually don't have anything to say. I opened up this site
in order to throw in an update, but when I lay my hands on the keyboard I couldn't come up with some
interesting input. Sure I can just rattle my tongue around for a while saying absolutely nothing
worth mentioning tonight at dinner with your mom, dad, sis, bro, man or wive ... but having nothing
to say and then just babble foolishly isn't worth the hassle of typing that stream of words onto the
screen with this black keyboard, or is it ?

Got cable ? Yes, I've got cable. Got root ? Yes, I've got root on some servers.
Got net ? Nope, not yet. Had to wait until there was cable because everything has got to go via
our secretary at work - she can get me on the net for free. If I'd call I'd have to pay ... :-(
Song of the week : "Highly Evolved" The Vines
Oldie of the week : "World's Best Dad" Ten Foot Pole
Last seen movie : "The Time Machine" : the scifi classic from 1960. The most famous one based
on a scenario from H.G.Wells. Victorian designs, furniture, clothing ... a typical cold war interludium
(fear of the bomb) and stunning effects for that day and age. Worth watching even if you're not a big
sci-fi fan.
Doing this week : Waiting for the netconnection.

The first pictures of the bachelor-party are in. I'm starting work on them and
just maybe everything will be online after this weekend. Remember, I said maybe ... For now enjoy
these small previews.

| Tsjerno's VW Transporter (aka flikkenbak aka Netje) will
carry just about anything. Even a Zodiac. |
Bmac had to row most of the time. That's the problem with
choosing a seat in the middle of the boat. |

 |
| Geronimo had some excellent rowing skills - right before
demonstrating his superb diving style. |
Small shot of the scenery. That yellow blob on the right
is actually Darkman's arm dressed in a very old t-shirt. |

Still without cable- and netconnection I have to say that it's nearly impossible
to find the time at work to update this page. I wrote a few sentences some days ago, forgot to upload
'em on friday and next thing you know ... we're 4 days later. That's life.
Song of the week : ---
Oldie of the week : "Buffy Theme" Nerf Herder
Last seen movie : "One Hour Photo" : Wow, this is scary stuff. No blood, no gore, no action,
no fighting ... just a very strong build-up, semi-confusing climax and an ultimate performance from
Robin Williams. I've always considered him a great actor and a warm man with a huge sense of humour,
but what he pulls off here is Scary. Yes, scary with a capital S. Don't think I'd feel that safe
anymore if I were to meet him at night in a small alley. Unless I'd be carying my lightsabre off
course.
Wonderful direction too. Having made several Nine Inch Nails videos this guy knows something about
dark, moody and down right disturbing stuff. As this film starts family-friendly - albeit a little
sad - it silently creeps into more unsafe territory. With great visual sceneries, camera-angles and
a very good build-up this is a strong contender for this year's top ten. Very tense.
Doing this week : Waiting for cable.

For all you people who'd like to know : yes, today is my birthday. And tomorrow I
will be taking a Zodiac into the Dijle river together with some friends in order to celebrate Bart's
last week as a bachelor. The guy's getting married next week. Maybe there'll be pictures of both events.

The monday-update's a little late this week. Hey, this time I've got an honest excuse.
I've moved everything (well almost everything) I own to my new home. A livingroom, a kitchen, a toilet, a
bathroom, a little walk-in closet, a small office an a bedroom. Big enough for the two of us. One catch
though ... no cable yet, so I'm cut off from all television and internet-usage for the next ... week ?
month ? Don't know yet.
Song of the week : "Indigo Girl" Watershed
Oldie of the week : "All Blues" Miles Davis
Last seen movie : "About A Boy
" : "Hugh Grant without his usual quirky smile and clumsyness ? Oh dear and good heavens, what's
next ? The euro ?" This could have been the remark of some british citizens but fear not, good
people of her majesty the queen ! Hughie is in fantastic form. He even drives an Audi TT. Smart move dude,
wish I had one. Based upon a book by Nick Hornsby - writer of another book that has been filmed already :
High Fidelity - it tells the story of a man who does nothing all day long. Thanks to the royalties of a
song his dad wrote long ago. Staying in a lifestyle suiting for a kid, Hugh chases the ladies, sits around
watching gameshows and does ... well, nothing basically. Off course one day something goes wrong and Hugh
has got to face "adulthood". I'm not going to tell you anymore because this is a movie that I
wholeheartedly recommend to anyone. Just get up and go see it. Use your legs ...
"First Men In The Moon" : an H.G.
Wells adaption from 1964. Pleasantly dated with the famous Ray Harryhausen Dynamation special effects (see
also One Million Years B.C.). Mainly stopmotion figures and sets combined with the real actors. Imagine the
first moonlanding ... and then the astronauts find a flag. From another nation. So when were they on the
moon ? And why hadn't anyone made it public ? Pure fun sunday-afternoon entertainment. Get the DVD and enjoy
the extra documentary about Harryhausen's techniques.
"Donnie Darko" : I missed this movie
when it appeared in cinemas earlier this year. Due to the eerie dark and quasi philosopical nature of the
story this movie didn't find an audience big enough to keep it in the theaters long enough. Thank God there
are some theaters willing to take (small) risks during the summer. They reprogram films that weren't that
succesful despite being good. Throw in a few very big movies and keep prices lower than usual and bingo ...
instant success it seems. This weekend they played "Donnie Darko". I thoroughly enjoyed it's X-File-ish
nature, weird storyline and acting. Haven't seen any real flaws by the actors - which is considerably
seeing Drew Barrymore (who produced this) and Patrick Swayze play small supportive roles. I'd call this one
"movie of the year" if it wasn't from last year ... Whatever, let's call it "cultfavorite of this year" and
go rent the thing. Or buy the dvd.
Doing this week : Remember all those boxes we've been packing the last two weeks ? Well, it's time to
unpack them ... go figure.
