A very happy birthday to my sister Elke. Don't know exactly where she is at the moment (probably still on our beloved seaside or in some fancy restaurant having dinner with her hubby Wim), but that don't matter, 'cause I've got her presents at hand. Not the usual new Jonathan Kellerman book, nope, something else. Are you curious yet, sis ?

Well, Hilde got married last weekend. And Dirk too ? So they probably married eachother, right ? Right, yes indeedy. An excellent opportunity to see some of those highschool friends again. People you haven't seen in ages and some of them still completely look the same.
Nico took some pictures and managed to get them online around 4 at night. Straight from the dance-floor behind the PC ? So if you wanna see a bride all dressed in black, go to their website or go see Nico's pictures.
Song of the week : "Youth Of The Nation" : P.O.D.
Oldie of the week : "My Name Is Mud" : Primus
Last seen movie : Disney's selling their Atlantis movie in a package deal. You can choose another one for free and they'll mail it to you. So I got "The Emperor's New Groove" this week. It didn't do all that well in the movietheaters and I'm wondering why. I cracked myself up at least two times so hard my shoulder started to hurt from the muscle-spasms. Add some "funkee" tunes to it and an incredible moron as the evil-one's sidekick and you're off for an hour and a half of laughter.
"Can't Hardly Wait" is an average teenage "big party after the senior prom" movie. The usual "boy meets girl and stuff" story but this movie's filled with actors from all sorts of teenage highschool-series. I'm betting no one can spot them all during the first screening. And that adds to the fun and entertainment. Besides that there are enough funny scenes to make it worth viewing at least once. And if you like this kind of movies, you'll surely enjoy it.
Doing this week : Updating someone else's website ...

There's something wrong with machines today. Waking up I the alarmclock was running fine, but it stopped playing two minutes early. That's weird. Then I switched on my cellphone (GSM in europe) and that was fine too, but an hour later it suddenly showed the time 4:39 while it should've been 8:59.
At that time I was standing in the middle of nowhere next to a stranded trolley-car. The brakes had frozen up so we had to stand around and wait for the next one to try to push it out of the way. Which means that even more people have to get out and wait for yet another one. Lots of seconds later, arriving in the city itself we had to wait for the sub because rush hour was over by then. Quite nice to arrive an hour late at work ...
At the same time 4 newly delivered servers seem to have problems cooling down. The ventilators are running at their peak making a lot of noise and still the software says the CPUs are getting too hot. Superb technicians are on their way.
Meanwhile my sister mailed me that the copier at her work started smelling funny and produce smoke. It all reminded her at "Maximum Overdrive", a movie and book by Stephen King. Creepy ...

Well, we almost kicked some brasilian butt. Too bad the referee was obviously blind and/or stoned. I guess that must be the Jamaican style. Still : Belgium - Brasil : 1-2 ! Yes, I am counting our goal. That one was in. The ref himself said so after viewing the television-images and brasilian newspapers are saying the same. Then who am I to disagree ?
Song of the week : "The Empty Page" : Sonic Youth
Oldie of the week : "Jesus Built My Hotrod" : Ministry
Last seen movie : The weather's too good to watch movies. And no, that's not the title of a movie.
Doing this week : After my mother's and my father's birthday, it's my sister's soon. Do I have all the presents ?

Guess what, Bizkit's back. And off course he brought Giraf with him. Check it.

Editorial - 11 June 2002

Bizkit wishes to express his deepest and most sincere apologies towards all the people waiting for new pictures of the adventures of the funkmeister and his friends. All he can say is Bizkit and Giraf have been extremely busy watching newly acquired DVDs. Some rule big time, others rule small time, some don't rule - or something like that. (don't ask me - I don't know what he means either)

First up, a little cheer for the people that fixed our mailproblems. Since friday everything is working fine again. I might be behind on some e-mail (have been a little busy this weekend and didn't check my mail often and there might be some lag due to the problems), but I'll make it up when I get home tonight. Now I have to work and stuff ...
Song of the week : "You Can't Go Home Again" : DJ Shadow
Oldie of the week : "My Friend Goo" Sonic Youth
Last seen movie : "The Wrong Man" is a sharply acted Hitchcock oldie starring Henry Fonda in the true story (a first for Hitchcock) of a jazz-musician wrongly accused of robbery. Actually quite chilling to see how badly justice can be even when it's trying it's best. You just need some witnesses to put you in the spotlight and you're cornered ... Not as climactic as usual with Hitchcock, but all the more thrilling along the way.
"I Am Sam" is a modern fairytale. Will it all end well ? Off course it will, after all this is Hollywood. Will it be filled with little children, tears and heartwarming moments ? Off course it will, Hollywood remember ? Will there be amazing acting ? Off course there will be, playing disabled or mentally challenged people always delivers Oscar-worth material. Whether it's Oscar-worthy because of the disabled part or because of the acting .. let's not go there ... Anyway, when has Sean Penn ever delivered a bad performance ? Indeed, not once that anyone can remember. Not even in this blatant attempt to substract some amounts of salty water from your eye-glands. Thank God for Sean Penn, he saves this movie from mediocricy and makes it at least enjoyable. Although I have to admit that the usage of Beatles-songs as filmmusic makes watching this all the more warm and fluffy.
Doing this week : It's about time I take those income-taxes serious. I probably need to fill out seven whole numbers to fill in my piece of paper. And then I'm done for another year. Right until they make me pay another big amount like this year. Dammit, I've been had ...

Last night the mailserver which hosts the mails for this domain went bye bye. After kicking it around a bit all services came back except the internet mail connections. So for the moment there's a big problem getting mail through to this domain. Outgoing mail is okay - for now. Skilled people are working with highly paid consultants to get things up and running again. I'll just have to wait and see what happens ...

Our prayers have been answered, it's been extremely sunny uptill now. Those first few days of nice heat always give me a lazy feeling. Takes a little getting used too ...
Song of the week : "Dansplaat" Brainpower : dutch hiphop with some nice old-skool flows
Oldie of the week : "Don't Pay The Polltax" The Exploited
Last seen movie : "Apocalypse Now Redux", "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone"
Doing this week : Lots of personal paperwork (taxes, car-insurance, bills ...) As if you people care about that.
