Well, Buscemi was just too late last week (he was supposed to start DJ'ing at 1 AM) so
I didn't go. Had to get outta bed the following morning. I did get into an acoustic concert of "De Mens" friday-evening even though
it was supposed to be completely sold out. Nice to know people ... ;-)
Song of the week : Nothing worth mentioning
Oldie of the week : "Roads" Portishead
Last seen movie : "A Beautiful Mind" : the thing just won an Oscar for best movie and best director and that's just too bad
because it's not worthy of the second one. Best movie ? Okay, maybe, but even then the subject's way too easy for winning that one.
"American hero with a very great mind who get's in trouble with his mind but overcomes his own mind and ..." Like I said : way too
easy. Anyway, it doesn't deserve to win for best direction. Frankly, Ron Howard didn't do a good job here. All too often there seem
to be missing things in this movie. As always in these kind of "real and true story" movies, things have to be re-invented and omitted,
but it bothered me from time to time. And I usually forgive these flaws very easily because I like watching almost any kind of movie.
So ...
Doing this week : I'm off friday at noon right until next monday ... my first break this year and I haven't been sick yet !

"Startup.Com" was fun. And it has very little to do with the big internet hype of the dotcoms two years ago. It's
more about raising money, getting a good product out first, struggling through the economical sharkpool ... and screwing over some
people in the proces. A true "free market values" movie. And it's not fiction, it's a documentary. Worth watching if you ever get the
chance.

My eyes hurt. Weird. They're tired and it isn't from watching the screen too long. Have been so since this
morning. The eyelids feel sticky - like when you've just woken up. Damn, taking a shower this morning obviously didn't work.
Song of the week : "And All That Could Have Been" Nine Inch Nails - on the second cd of the limited edition live album
Oldie of the week : "Blitzkrieg Bop" Ramones - in honor of their introduction in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame
Last seen movie : "Ocean's Eleven" : blitzy remake of a 60's "Rat Pack" vehicule. Starring some big names who usually
never let you down under guidance of a great director. It does not deliver something big and powerfull we're accustomed to from
Steven Soderbergh, but it sure is a lot of fun. Steven S probably just needed a break from dramas like "Erin Brockovich" and
"Traffic". Good for him and good for us. Go see this, especially if you like sixties soundtracks with wha-wha-inspired guitars
and funky bass-lines (Bizkit says it must be "fonkee", but what the hell does he know).
Doing this week : Let's see ... a special screening of "startup.com" tonight, maybe even a Buscemi concert tomorrow, friday
or saturday ... yup, nuff' said.

It's celebrity-week for me. Not that I'm going to be famous this week, obviously not, but since I'm going to a
Heather
Nova concert wednesday-evening and a Microsoft-seminar thursday with "special
guest appearance" by no other than Steve Ballmer (CEO), I'm surely going to get an overdose. An overdose of american enthousiasm from the
latter one (remember the video's ?) and the usual "warm, fuzzy feeling inside" from miss Nova. She's number three in
my "beautiful women" list, right behind Sandra Bullock.

Song of the week : "I'm No Angel" Heather Nova - guess you saw that one coming, right ?
Oldie of the week : "What A Wonderfull World" Louis Armstrong - Joey Ramone's new version ain't bad either ...
Last seen movie : Seen "Magnolia" on VHS (boy, does that image quality suck or what ?). Strange movie. Actually
almost three hours of different scenes which seem to be going nowhere and everywhere at the same time. Not that they're just thrown together
because you know and feel it's all coming together in the end, but you haven't got the slightest clue how ... and when you get to the end,
you're in for a big surprise due to it's very strange extra plot-twist.
Doing this week : Trying to catch up on some websites reading. I have a huge pile of links that need to be visited.
Editorial - 6 March 2002
Somebody in our government must like my HTML-skills. I just stumbled across a part of their website which bears a very
striking resemblance to pages I made in 2000 for a small website for the elderly. The contained information (a series of health-links) was
even in the same order. The font, the color, the links without underlining, links becoming bold when you're clicking them ... it's all there.
Don't know if I should be flattered or slightly frustrated ...

Guess what ? Bizkit's back. And he brought some friends again. Up here in Bears.
Song of the week : "Summer Ghosts" Lemon
Oldie of the week : "The Day The World Went Away" Nine Inch Nails
Last seen movie : "Alias" (small no-spoiler review coming later).
Doing this week : I already know I'll be changing a flat tire on my car tonight.
