A special update : I'm sick. What a way to end the year - especially when you're having a holiday. So don't expect too many updates until next year (hey, only a few days away). Last thing to mention before I hit the couch again : I've bought some stuff from the late speech-products-wizards LHSP. Their entire computerstuff is up for auction. I've managed to get hold of a nice 20" Sony Trinitron screen (with the accompaning Compaq Deskpro piece of crap) for my brother-in-law and a nice no-name PIII-600 (64 Mb ram) computer with 17" screen for my parents. That's already a tremendous upgrade from their six years old P150, but to my great surprise the box contained a dual PIII800 with 256 Mb ram. The two processors alone are worth more than what I paid for it. Extra funny is the fact that it really was one of their servers because upon booting I got the WinNT4 Server loginscreen. Guess I'll have to look for that admin-pwd-reset floppy again ;-)

Two weeks no update ? Sure ! Why not ? I didn't have anything important to say so I kept my mouth shut. Ain't that sweet ? Although I did have a revelation. I've seen the light ! Hallelujah ! Praise th lord, people. Does anybody of you know why the BMW-driver behind me was honking his horn because I was standing still in order to turn left when all the incoming cars had passed ? No ? Anyone ? Nope, because they're stupid doesn't count. It's a good one, but it's not what I was looking for. Anyone ? Come on, it's easy ... because he doesn't understand the meaning of my brakelights and those little orange flashing lights on the left side of my car. Those lights are optional on BMW's so why would he know why they're there for ? Applying the brakes, slowing down, signaling to the left, turn the car slightly, stop, await your turn through incoming traffic ... that's just too hard for them to understand. They can only grasp the world-famous extension of the middle finger.
Song of the week : "60 MPH" New Order.
Oldie of the week : "I wanna be sedated" Ramones - to be included in the Hall Of Fame !
Last seen movie : "Das Experiment" : time to freshen up "zie djerman". A strong recap of the 1971 experiment (which can be reviewed here). Take a selection of people and divide them in two groups : prisoners and guards. Seclude them. Watch what happens. I read about this experiment when I was studying psychology a few years back and it's intruiging to see how this movie tries to adapt the story to our current (30 years later) society. I'll be short : the movie is very good, no serious flaws and a must see for everyone. You don't need psychopaths to fuck up a peaceful community - just someone with a bad day, low(er) self-esteem or intelligence. It's not in the genes, it's not in the upbringing ... evil lies in both combined - given the right time, place and possibilty. That's all we humans need.
Doing this week : Wrapping the christmas-presents. The tree is up and running since yesterday, lights and all. I'd upload a picture, but my digital camera's somewhere else this week.

Mercedes drivers suck. They get into their tank and think they own the road. Stupid dumbshit goddamn motherfuckers (and that's an Offspring qoute). Had myself yet another run in with some dumb ass in a green - for cryin out loud : green ?! - Merc. He cut me off at an intersection when he suddenly realised he had to go right when he was going left. He ignored the lines on the road, cut me off and then hit the brakes, causing me to almost hit him. Thank you God for giving Audi excellent quality brakes. Crazy old me flashed my lights at him and the annoying part is he had the nerve to harrass me at the next red lights standing in front of me in the lane to the left. Waving his hands and shit, making gestures. I had the incredible urge to smash his phoney white teeth out - actually I don't know whether they were white or yellow from smoking, couldn't see from that distance - but then again, I get that urge a lot sometimes so I really don't take any notice of it. It's like turning on the radio when you get in the car alone. Some kind of instinct. So I ingnored him and promised myself again I'd never buy a Mercedes. Hell, most of 'em are ugly anywayz ... (this rant brought to you in association with Audi - nice German automobiles)
Song of the week : "Chop Suey" System Of A Down.
Oldie of the week : "Weeds" Life Of Agony.
Last seen movie : Been busy this weekend. Seen "Con Air" first - typical action flick with big stunts - and convinced myself it wasn't my cup of tea. Then "Broken Arrow". John Woo's first attempt at directing John Travolta in a very entertaining action movie with some nice camerashots and very cool acting from mr. Travolta - off course, what else ? This one's only been topped by Woo's "Face/Off" which featured Travolta again and Nicolas Cage - who also played in Con Air - now isn't this a nice coincidence ? Nearing the end of Broken Arrow I suddenly realised that another channel was starting "8MM" - starring Nicolas Cage again btw. I really like that movie. Not because it's that good. No, because it shows the importance of a good director. You take one hell of a story, some great actors (Nic and Joaquin Phoenix), nice scenery, a dark atmosphere ... and then you take an average director like Joel Schumacher to fuck it all up. Just like he did with the Batman franchise. *shaking head in disbelief* Anyway, when you're looking for a sleepless night - rent this baby. It ain't bad. Hell no.
Doing this week : Nuttin much. Being good. Seeing Saint Nicolas (that's the real Santa Claus for all you crazy Americans).
