Happy Halloween to you all. Or should I say "All Hallow's Eve" ?
Song of the week : The news that the Spice Girls have split up was music to my ears.
Oldie of the week : "Without You I'm Nothing" Placebo
Last seen movie : Moulin Rouge : f*cking great movie. I wasn't really sure about seeing it, but it was absolutely
great. Entertaining, very good acting, nice camerawork and outstanding usage of the music. Really blew me away.
Doing this week : Seeing Therapy? in concert tonight and then starting a two and a half week holiday.

Last scheduled down time for the server due to complete renewal of the electrical circuitry in the
building. This site should go down around 6 PM (GMT+1) tonight and come back alive tomorrow morning after 8 AM ? It all
depends on the ETA of the first one to arrive tomorrow.

What great timing ! During all the electrical mayhem around here, Franky still found the time last
saturday to install the new firewall. No more Eagle Raptor ! Welcome *** (deleted for obvious reasons) !
Let's give Franky a big round of applause - something he ain't getting here enough these days ...
Song of the week : "Nothing really ends" dEUS : probably one of the only bands who can write a beautiful ballad
while practically continuously feedbacking the same note during the entire song.
Sure, Sonic Youth can do it too, but they hardly ever write real ballads,
do they ?
Oldie of the week : "Teethgrinder" Therapy?
Last seen movie : The original "Planet of the Apes" is a masterpiece compared to the 2001 remake from Tim Burton.
Not that Tim's version is bad, but it's not remarkable either. This one is. Okay, the movie is starting to show it's age
(some of the acting would now be considered overacting, some special effects really suck and the pacing's not entirely
right : the courtroom stuff takes way too long and the ending should've been a bit longer), but actually those are just
minor flaws considering the era in which it was filmed. It deserves more credit than it has gotten over the past decades.
Never mind some of the weaker follow-ups, this first one stands out and should
be checked out by any science fiction fan and/or movie-lover.
Doing this week : Do you really think I've already seen all the extra's of the "Star Wars Episode I : The Phantom
Menace" DVD ?

The electrical work has proven to be much more difficult that anticipated. Mainly because the
neighbours complained about the huge dieselgenerator that is standing next to the building and - granted - making a
little bit of noise. Bunch of weenies. So we shut everything down again monday-evening and hooked the serverroom
up to a little generator in the garage. Less noisy.
Alas ... tuesdaymorning the janitor shut that one down. No servers for the third time in less than a week. This was
starting to be ridiculous. So we rebooted everything again and oh wonder ... the SCO-UNIX thingie was much more
difficult to get up and running again compared to our NT4's and Win 2000 boxes. Go figure !
The next night everything went down again. Last night also ... They just keep switching the powersupply between the
bigger and smaller generator and each time all the power's gone.
So my very humble apologies to all the visitors who couldn't see the website recently and to all the people with
an e-mail-address on this domain. It's completely outta my hands. <chinese>I am vely, vely solly.</chinese>
Song of the week : "F**k Authority" Pennywise
Oldie of the week : "Porno Slut" The Exploited (because it brings back much more than high school memories)
Last seen movie : Had to put in some real overtime this weekend so I haven't seen any movie in the theaters.
Doing this week : Watching all the extra's of the "Star Wars Episode I : The Phantom Menace" DVD off course !
What else should anyone be doing right now ? What a stupid, stupid, stupid question is that !

This website will be offline this weekend (saturday 13 and sunday 14) due to
electrical work in the building. It didn't seem usefull to switch servers and IP-addresses for this short period.
It's not like I'm making thousands of dollars or euros every minute this thing is online.

Behind schedule as usual on the dumping of september in the editorial-section.
Probably due to the new Stephen King novel I'm reading : Dreamcatcher. Now that's a guy who knows how to tell tales.
Song of the week : "Harder, Deeper, Faster, Stronger" Daft Punk
Oldie of the week : "Kitty" Satanic Surfers
Last seen movie : Blow : seen it yesterday-evening. A typical actor's movie - some nice dialogues, very decent
actors (even in the supporting roles : Ray Liotta for instance), slightly interesting camerawork ... Too bad there has
to be one disappointment : Penelope Cruz. She has a fairly big role and she's acting like a cardboard wall. Actually
she sometimes even looks like one. Most stupid scene was when she's walking out the house (somewhere in the eighties)
dressed in one of those ugly, plastic sportsoutfits Nike, Adidas and Kappa make. She's supposed to be poor right then
but her face looks as beautiful as always. Plucked eyebrows, eyeliner, lipgloss ... the usual very subtle, yet extremely
expensive make-up you see in movies. Now that's what I call stupid. Luckily everything else was good and Johnny Depp
is on a roll (he probably knew some things from a few years ago), otherwise this error would've made the movie suck.
Now it's still a "worth seeing", not a "must see".
Doing this week : Don't know yet.

Something funny happened to me recently. While driving home from work my gas pedal
suddenly came loose. It just crashed to the bottom sorta speak. Without it I couldn't continu so I let the car go as
far as I could with the emergency lights on. Unfortunately I was driving on a very crowded road straight towards a
big intersection. Nowhere to stop ... Upon reaching the intersection the light turned red, so I had to stop. Now thank
you Herr Diesel for inventing the gasoline-engine ! When the lights turned green I managed to take a left and park the
car on a nearby parking lot by driving the clutch at something around 8 kilometers an hour ! Needless to say I was
causing some traffic jams. After the evening rush, we towed the car some 10 kilometers to the garage in which it is
being fixed as we speak.
Now for something else ... I have another screenshot for you guys. While surfing the
Clickx! website I experienced a database-error which returned the
access credentials in plain text on screen. Now, I know a little about some databases, but this is just stupid. Sure,
databases usually send you a whole lot of info while testing and developing in order to know what you're doing wrong,
but giving up name and password on an ordinary errorpage for all surfers to see ? That's just asking - no, actually
demanding - to be hacked ... You only have to get in the network to fully expose, delete, change ... or whatever ...
the entire database. Too easy, too easy ... no wonder the amount of scriptkiddies grows every day.

Well, the bullet's finally through the church (very, very, very strict
translation of a dutch saying) ... I bought myself a standalone DVD-player. Watching on your PC-screen
isn't bad, but it isn't great either. Not even on a nice 19 incher. Gimme my 32" TV set any day.
Upon purchasing the Simpsons Season One Box I just couldn't resist anymore so I rechecked the balance on
my account (no, I did not rape the piggybank) and went for it. I knew a store who wanted to give 10 % off
and that was all I needed. Which player was already decided two weeks ago, after some months of testing,
reading reviews and looking up technical details. Yeah, that's right, I didn't exactly go over one night's
ice. Kinda cool to have it flashing it's little blue light in the dark. Which means you're listening to a
more than stereo soundtrack ... like DTS for instance.
Song of the week : "Little L" Jamiroquai
Oldie of the week : "Mother" Danzig
Last seen movie : 2010 : slightly better than 2001 on the level off a coherent storyline, but in all
other fields right behind its marvelous predecessor 2001.
Doing this week : Dumping these sentences below into the september editorials section ...
