Nothing much to rant about ... think I'll keep quiet. Oh yeah, it seems that it's already ten
years ago since Linus Torvalds threw Linux upon us. Ten years already and no global domination yet ? Like I just said :
nothing much to rant about ...
Song of the week : "Ramiro's Theme" Buscemi
Oldie of the week : "You Don't Care About Us" Placebo
Last seen movie : As mentioned before, I've seen Planet Of The Apes in advance - thanx to Duvel - and two days
later the usual crew - me, Duvel, Elischka - went to see Bridget Jones's Diary. It was either that or some MTV movie
which I'm not even gonna mention due to it's apparent stupidity considering the premisse. So Bridget ... well, Hugh
Grant is his usual self, the rest are the usual nice british actors, the setting is the usual London scenery, Renee
Zellweger gained some pounds and the dialogues are typical british tongue-in-cheeck-with-some-sexy-extras ... it's
funny ... but its also something you have definitely seen before ... Oh, one more thing : that afwul raining men song
can only be heard for a few seconds in the movie ... thank God - or some other deity - for that.
Doing this week : I've just finished installing a new cd-rewriter. The usual big hassle with all the E-IDE-cables
and suddenly the diskdrive died on me. The cable seems OK, but there's no data flowing through ... gotta check that out.

Just got back from three days in Antwerp. Been to the zoo - I like all kinds of animals. Except
ugly spiders ... yeech ... Also seen the new Planet Of The Apes movie yesterday. A preview-screening. Great sciencefiction
movie, bad Tim Burton movie. Still worth watching though. Tim's bad movies are better than most other movies. And now I'm
cruising the fields of Pukkelpop : a three day festival in belgium.
I'll only be attending it today. Wanna see The Sisters Of Mercy al least once in my lifetime ...
Editorial - 20 August 2001
Started my vacation with another festival : Marktrock.
Five stages, four for free ... and you can ask The Sheila Divine any day ... it's one of the best festivals ever.
Maybe partly thanks to that great belgian beer : Stella Artois !
Song of the week : "I Feel Love" Depeche Mode
Oldie of the week : "When Love Comes To Town" U2 & B.B. King
Last seen movie : This list is gonna be long for two reasons : I haven't told you about last week's
viewings and I'm on holiday right now - which means more time to watch or stay up later to see the oldies
on the good old BBC. So, let's try to remember everything : Captain Corelli's Mandolin, Flood, Kiss Of The
Dragon, Beautiful Girls. And yesterday I had the chance to tape The Hustler. Paul Newman's first time to play
Eddie Felson ... a role he later took up again with Tom Cruise in The Color Of Money. It should be a good movie.
We'll see about that later.
Doing this week : Absolutely nothing ... well not really, but ain't that the standard answer when
you're on holiday ? I should think so ... But, like I said, that's not it. I've got some chores to do around
the house, I bought a cd-rewriter (delivered next wednesday) whiwh needs to be installed, I'm promise myself
I will shop around for a standalone dvd-player, it's almost Pukkelpop-time again (Sisters Of Mercy !) and I'd
like to go to the seaside and the zoo. No need for far away countries this time. Our weather's just
excellent.

Short one : it's the PC's birthday today. Twenty years
old. One more year and he'll be allowed to buy a beer in it's native country. Ain't that sweet ?
Editorial - 10 August 2001
Yes people, it's final. Franky's pictures are in the house. Heeey ! Hooo ! Heey ! Hooo !
Oops, sorry about that ... Just drop on over to the cocktaillounge and enjoy
what's already in there. Or should I say : who's already in there ?

Well, a few days have passed and U2 has passed Belgium since then, so our local newspapers
have written articles about the shows. I was a little amazed about the article in De Standaard because it describes in almost perfect detail the show we saw in the Netherlands
last friday. Okay, Duvel points out to me that we didn't get "New Year's Day". That's true ... Still, it makes it a
whole lot easier for me ... now I don't have to write anything myself. Just copy the article - give the proper credit
where credit is due - and upload the mofo ... Go ahead ... read it here.

Updates following shortly ... including pictures of our latest cocktailnight !
Song of the week and oldie of the week : "All Along The Watchtower" Jimi Hendrix - that song's so good
it fits both categories at once.
Last seen movie : None. Didn't have any time this weekend. First I went to U2 with Elischka and Duvel
and the day after I threw a surprise cocktailparty for my girlfriend's birthday.
Doing this week : Lots of work. Hell, can somebody explain to me why everyone wants an arm when you're
offering them a finger ? Some department asks to build them a website. We ask what they would want. They give us
a two page worddocument with a small summary. After reading the thing very carefully, we make them an offer.
"Hey you guys, that sounds good, we'll take it." they say afterwards. Off course, that's not it.
Nope, suddenly the two page doc consists of 13 pages. The whole idea is to change all subdirectorynames, to switch
tools from one place to another, to rethink the homepage we agreed upon and to add at least three new parts. And
it has to fit the agreed proposal. Now, that's what I call wishful thinking ...

Okay people ... check this out ... read 'em and weep ... last minute stroke of luck ...
I'm going to U2 tonight. In Holland ... their third sold out concert in three nights time over there. Duvel was
so lucky to have some extra tickets so Elischka and I are tagging along. I just asked and got the afternoon off
at work in order to leave for the long long drive over there. More later ... I'm sure. Meanwhile you can read
this review about the
gig last wednesday.

Well, the homepage's free from clutter again. Enjoy it while it lasts ... or be a smart guy
or girl - whatever fancies you - and check this
site out. Go ahead and look at some of those kittens ... some of them will be my sister's in a few weeks. Kittens
are cool. And while you're watching cats ... check out my own little monster Lars again ... too
bad the thing lives at my parents home ... I think she misses me ...
