Didn't go to a movie last weekend ... went to see a Panamarenko exhibition instead. That guy must be the most positive thinking person in the world. he keeps on inventing devices that will never ever ever fly or float or drive or ... and each and every time he insists on testing it ... has been doing it since the sixties. God, that's some courage ... hats off.
Song of the week : "Clint Eastwood" Gorillaz
Oldie of the week : "Jeanny" Falco
Last seen movie : "Voyage to the bottom of the sea" : a movie from 1961 about a circle of fire around earth which keeps heating up the earth so some incredibly new and advanced (aren't they always ?) submarine has to launch some nuclear missiles into the asteriodbelt on fire. The nuclear explosion would extinguish the fire ... ? Yeah, I'm lost too. Typical post war, height of nuclear era movie : nuclear power is good and will help mankind all the time, there are no disadvantages ... sure, and I'm rich ...
Seen on tv yesterday : "Baantjer" : a dutch show about an older detective for the Amsterdam police - kinda like Derrick. I like the show because it's so extremely slow ... reminds me of those old 50s and 60s movies.
Doing this week : trying a MS SQL 2000 install on a dualboot Win 2000 AS / Win Me machine.

On a brighter note ... Franky has updated the smeg-section with some stories and pictures from Mekka & Symposium in Germany last weekend. Sure must've improved the atmosphere when the smegmeister walked in.

Long weekends rule ... if I were prime-minister, king, president ... I'd double the amount of long weekends. It could improve production 'cause most people are superly motivated when they get back to work afterwards. We should try it, just to see whether my theory is right or wrong, not ?
Song of the week : "I Wanna Be Sedated" The Ramones
Oldie of the week : "Sheena Is A Punk Rocker" The Ramones
Last seen movie : "15 Minutes" : the new Robert De Niro movie ... De Niro movies are always good (enough)
Seen on tv yesterday : All the news-programs of the following networks : VRT - VTM - Canvas - MTV : looking for more info about the death of Joey Ramone, leadsinger for The Ramones and punk icon / godfather
Doing this week : listening to Ramones records - what else ?

Editorial - 16 April 2001

Joey Ramone, legendary singer of the even more legendary New York punkrock band The Ramones, died of lymphatic cancer a few hours ago at age 49 in New York. Due to timezone differences between Europe and America : the exact time was april 15th, around 2h40 PM in some American timezone. More news here ...

Another intermezzo : Right after my little rant about the ASP-error from the Icon-boys (who have been watching this site a little bit since then), I got another screenshot. The same ASP-error, but this one came from the microsoft-site. The people behind ASP. And extra fun part : the error can be found (if it ain't removed yet) in their educational part of the website. Try reading yer manuals yerself a bit guys ...

As usual I have to come back on my word ... (not a good personality trait) ... I had promised to update this page yesterday ... well, as you can see (and maybe have seen yesterday), it's a day later. I'm not even gonna promise to make up for it ... shouldn't know what to do ... a give-away ? Give what away ? Darklife doesn't has it's own stickers (yet). And I'm out of other ideas ...
Song of the week : "Mr Writer" Stereophonics : nice, harsh voice
Oldie of the week : "Your Ghost" Kirsten Hersh
Last seen movie : "Miss Congeniality" : Sandra ! Sandra ! Sandra ! Sandra ! Sandra ! What more do you want ?
Seen on tv yesterday : "Lethal Weapon" : that was long ago ...
Doing this week : euhm ?

Editorial - 9 April 2001

Small intermezzo : Star Wars fans can decide whether they want to read the opening scroller text for Episode II or not on this page. The usual darklife news later today ...

Editorial - 2 April 2001

April ... the next month and boy is the weather getting better over here. I've seen the sun again. Was time too, my dark mood wasn't getting any better due to crappy rain and dark clouds. I hate bad weather. Must be like I wanna be the only dark thing around or something. Must check some Freud or Jung to analyse that.
Anywayz ... march will be archived by the end of this week. Enjoy it here while it lasts.
Song of the week : "Superman Inside" Eric Clapton : a song from the new album "Reptile" and he's using his slide again. Smooth as ever ... wish I was half that good ...
Oldie of the week : "Tainted Love" Soft Cell
Last seen movie : "Traffic" : worth every Oscar and more, dammit. Nice camerawork, heavy story, overal good acting (except for that guy from "That 70's Show"), especially from Benicio del Torro and from Don Cheadle ...
Seen on tv yesterday : nothing. My upcoming brother in law just got back from his practical pilot training and he passed. Been drinking champagne all evening. A bottle of Dom Perignon, a bottle Piper Heidseck and a bottle from a local little farmer in the Champagne-region in France ... all some very good stuff. Must've drank half a liter myself.
Doing this week : enjoying the sun ... upgrading my mood.

By the way ... don't do business with a company named Icon/Allmansland/eEurope or whatever they are called this week. They just suck and can never get anything straight. They fuck up the maildelivery of a newspaper I like to read online, they built a bad database for our old company-site (got rid of it) and now they fucked up on an onlineshop where I occasionally buy some stuff. Look at the picture beneath (click it for full view).
